This upgraded LSHT hydraulic motor combines a proven Geroler design with Valve-in-Star valving and a reinforced internal structure. This hydraulic motor is an upgraded development of the traditional LSHT orbital motor. It keeps the proven Geroler design and adds a Valve-in-Star valving system together with a reinforced internal structure. The changes are aimed at increasing torque and pressure capability while keeping the motor compact and efficient.
The motor uses the Geroler principle to convert hydraulic energy into mechanical torque through the orbital movement of the Geroler set. The basic working principle remains familiar, but several internal components have been strengthened for higher-load applications. Geroler rigidity is increased. Larger bolts, improved material properties and larger Geroler rolls also contribute to the increased strength of the motor.
A Two-Piece Pre-Loaded Balance Plate is used to improve starting performance and maintain stable operation under changing pressure conditions. Combined with the reinforced Geroler structure, it helps the motor handle repeated load changes while maintaining smooth low-speed operation.

The motor is primarily designed for closed-loop hydraulic circuits. A shuttle valve is incorporated into the system, and a case drain is required for proper operation and internal lubrication. Series circuit applications are not recommended.
Skid steer loaders are one of the main applications for this motor. The drive system of a skid steer operates under demanding conditions, with frequent forward and reverse movement, high starting loads and a wide range of operating speeds. High torque at low speed is especially important when the machine is starting, turning or working under heavy load. At the same time, the drive motor needs to fit into a relatively limited installation space.
The compact design and reinforced internal structure make this motor a good match for these requirements. It provides the starting torque and low-speed characteristics expected from an LSHT motor, while offering increased pressure and torque capability for more demanding drive applications.
The motor can also be used in other mobile hydraulic equipment with closed-loop drive systems. It is particularly suited to applications where space is limited and the motor is exposed to frequent changes in load, speed and direction.
Hydraulic oil quality and cleanliness have a direct effect on motor performance and service life. Premium anti-wear hydraulic oil is recommended, with a minimum viscosity of 70 SUS at operating temperature. The recommended filtration level is ISO 18/13, and the maximum recommended operating temperature is 82°C / 180°F. The motor should be filled with hydraulic fluid before any load is applied.
By combining the Geroler principle with improved valving and a reinforced internal structure, this LSHT hydraulic motor offers a compact solution for high-torque hydraulic drive applications. Its main application is skid steer loader drive systems, with other closed-loop mobile hydraulic applications also possible.
